The new handbook of the Food Packages Free Press collection, “Sustainable packaging”, is now available on-line in .pdf format. You can download it for free. It's a simple and practical guide that explains all the main ideas to “think green”, from systems and packaging design to the optimization measures, with also an analysis of each material and a special care to technological innovations offered by the latest researches. The handbook, available in Italian language, is published thanks to the support of Giflex (Italian association of flexible packaging producers) and some of its associates: Goglio spa, Sit Group, Henkel spa, Masterpack, Pack Co srl.

Environmental sustainability is the most in vogue expression at the moment. We talk a lot about it, but the real challenge today is to provide an unambiguous and sharable definition. The new Food Packages Free Press handbook is coming! The Food Packages Free Press Handbook, on modified atmosphere (MAP) in English language will be distributed on Plastex 2009 International Specialized Exhibition of Plastic and Polymeric Materials’ Producing (Kyiv, Ukraine, October 27th - 30th 2009). Many food packaging's producers are going to be present at Plastex: this year Plastex joins togheter ProdPlast and ProdMash, International exhibition for food and processing industry equipment and also packing equipment and package.

We are preparing a welcome gift: the first Food Packages Free Press Handbook, on modified atmosphere in English language. Food packaging in modified atmosphere is one of the winning choices to assure longer life and higher quality standards. Why devoting so much attention to this technology through this handbook? As for all projects of our publishing house, the idea was born by conversing with food producers and retailers who can benefit from this technology. The English version of the manual about modified atmosphere is under construction. "The incentive to produce the English version came from readers and advertisers, who visited our stand at Ipack-Ima 2009" announces Maria Rosa Baroni, editor in chief of Food Packages. "In this first phase of the project we are collecting the membership of the supporters and we are planning to spread the volume to dedicated exhibitions".
