Beer packaging: what packaging material is most frequently used in beer and why? Euromonitor says that glass is still number one in each region of the world. The only exception is North America, where the can prevails. According to the forecast data, things will not change a lot with 2014. But overall, beverage cans still remains a popular format for beer in Europe, holding 20% share in the beer sector. In particular, the larger 50 cl can is more popular in traditional beer drinking cultures such as the UK, Eastern Europe and Germany.
